Northeast Clinical Specialists believes that domestic violence can be stopped. Men, women, and children can overcome violence and lead healthy, rewarding lives. Our evaluation and therapy services are designed to help individuals, couples and families to stop this common problem.
INITIAL ASSESSMENT: A careful assessment is made to determine the needs of each family member seeking help. The problem of domestic violence is seen in the context of an individual's life history, personal resources, and family circumstances. Sometimes the person seeking these services will have encountered legal difficulties related to their behavior and may want a written report to be used in the court process. Following the assessment, a treatment plan is developed.
THERAPY SERVICES: When treatment recommendations are discussed, a wide range of services may be offered. Therapy services are available on an individual, group, or family basis, at different stages of the treatment process. A specialized therapy group is often recommended to provide the added support and understanding of others who are working to overcome similar problems.
STAFF: Our staff has special expertise in treating problems of domestic violence. Northeast Clinical Specialists has also been a provider of the Family Violence Education Program under contract with the State of Connecticut for many years.
